Create New Areas

Purpose: Add new areas to the AEX system that don't currently exist.

Requirements: CSV must have AEX STATUS = NEW

Process: System will validate coordinates, create area boundaries, and add to both AEX and HubSpot.

Best for: Initial area setup, expansion to new territories, or adding missed coverage areas.

Update Existing Areas

Purpose: Modify existing areas in the AEX system with updated information.

Requirements: CSV must have AEX STATUS = UPDATE and areas must exist in HubSpot.

Process: System looks up existing areas in HubSpot, validates changes, and updates both systems.

Best for: Boundary adjustments, coordinate corrections, or updating area metadata.

Delete Areas

Purpose: Safely remove areas from the AEX system with full audit trail.

Requirements: CSV must have Action = DELETE FROM AEX and areas must exist in HubSpot.

Process: System first updates HubSpot area name with "DELETED -" prefix, then removes area from AEX system.

Benefits: Maintains HubSpot audit trail, clear deletion marking, and safe two-step process.

Best for: Cleaning up obsolete areas, removing duplicate coverage, or decommissioning regions.

Remap Areas

Purpose: Update geo mapping data for existing areas in the AEX system.

Requirements: CSV must have Action = REMAP or AEX STATUS = REMAP and areas must exist in HubSpot.

Process: System looks up area ID from HubSpot, then makes POST request to update area geo mapping in AEX.

Benefits: Updates geographic coordinates, boundaries, or mapping data without recreating areas.

Best for: Correcting mapping data, updating boundaries, or refreshing geographic information.
